False Views about Christian Epistemology

FALSE VIEWS about CHRISTIAN EPISTEMOLOGY:
1. Christians have BLIND faith. Christians have faith in Christ because we believe it to be reasonable, where the evidence leads, and as a result of God’s supernatural work in our hearts which has led us to trust in Him.
2. Christian faith is an enemy to real knowledge. Everyone has faith in things which cannot be empirically proven (logic, sense perception, etc.). As Christians we believe that faith leads to genuine and real knowledge (Prov 1:7) and that in Christ are found all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:3).
3. Christians use faith, but secular humanists employ reason. Both parties employ faith and reason. The Christian though can give rational reasons for why reason and logic are valid and trustworthy, while the secular humanist cannot.
4. Christians are uncritical blind sheep who believe anything. In reality, Christians have a foundation for testing truth and falsehood, and are not encouraged to blindly believe everything (1 John 4:1)
