Structure of Hosea: 4 REPEATED ELEMENTS

Structure of Hosea

The literary structure of Hosea is two main parts: ch 1-3 Parable Acted Out; ch 4-14 Parable Preached.

The book seems to be mainly made up of four main elements, which are repeated through the book and are found in both parts. The four elements are indictment (exposure of sin), judgment (announcement of coming judgment), call to repentance, and promise of redemption. Often, indictment and judgment are mingled and closely connected.
