Incompatible New Identity

The Creator has recreated a people to display His glory and enjoy His presence forever. God witnessed His creation rebel against Him and descend into the darkness of slavery to sin and death; but, in His loving-kindness, He came and redeemed a people to be His children and enjoy fellowship with Him forever. If you are in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Cor 5:17) and a child of God.You are part of God’s new creation which is breaking through the old and fallen creation. Your identity in Christ is more true and lasting than your career status, your national citizenship, your relationship status, or anything else by which we try to define ourselves. Our new citizenship is in Christ.

Man-made religion gives us false identity which only fades away. It leads us to think we are good because we do good things, but on the Day of Judgment we realize that no one is good, except for God Himself. It makes us look down on others and think highly of ourselves. It even tells us there are many ways to God, while ignoring that the God-man Himself declared that He is the only way. It is utterly foreign to the gospel and is akin to spiritual adultery.

Our new identity in Jesus is incompatible with the false identity given to us in man-made religion. It’s pure folly to think we can combine these contradicting truths, because God is a jealous God and desires us to love and trust Him. The identity God has given us will last and his Kingdom endure when every nation on earth is forgotten. This new identity is incompatible with man-made religion.
