The greatest battles in ministry take place first within our own hearts.
Everything flows from here:
-Will I trust God in this perplexing situation?
-Will I believe God’s Word when the culture around me tells me something else?
-Will I harbor bitter thoughts or resentments toward someone I think has wronged me?
-Will I chose the path of sexual purity in my thoughts and unseen moments?
-Will I fear God instead of fearing other people or things?
-Will I keep God as my first love and treasure Him above everything else?
-Will I honor God with my time and use it to pray or read God’s Word?
Thankfully, as Christians, we take heart because as we fight these battles within our hearts, we look to a Savior who has already won the victory for us.
John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
1 John 5:5: “Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
